The British military is having its own #MeToo moment. Increasingly, servicewomen and men have been coming forward to speak about sexual harassment and assault within the Armed Forces. Military “chains of command” and regulations create formidable barriers to having the voices of these survivors heard, and, as a result, they suffer high levels of mental health difficulties. On Sunday, the report of the Defence Committee Inquiry on “Women in the Armed Forces” (chaired by Sarah Atherton, MP) will be published. We will be commenting on this!
