In January 2021, SHaME Principal Investigator Joanna Bourke interviewed historian Dr Dimitra Vassiliadou, who is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Hellenic Open University in Greece, as well as the Principal Investigator for the ‘Brutal intimacies: A history of rape in modern Greece, 1900-196s’ research project.

Watch their interview here to hear Joanna and Dimitra speak about her innovative research on sexual violence in Greece, the value of comparative history, and the importance of creating channels of communication between historians and the public.
